Trellidor manufactures strongest sliding security gate in the world

The Trellidor Trojan 3 EMESC T3000 security grille has achieved the highest strength rating yet attained by sliding security gate products worldwide. “It was a proud moment for the team that has worked long and hard on this project, in which we’ve invested over R1.5m,” said Peter Rawson, Trellidor Marketing and Sales Director.

This sliding security gate is part of the Trellidor Retractable steel security gate range and joins two other Trellidor products that have been awarded internationally approved ratings by the BRE Global Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) based in London.

The project was initiated out of the escalation of terror attacks in Europe.  “Our European Trellidor franchises needed to be able to supply a security gate that could comply with strict European safety standards as well as provide a high level of security in public areas such as stadiums, shipping ports, railway stations, amongst other locations where large crowds gather,” said Rawson.

BRE Global Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) is an internationally respected, independent, third-party certification organisation that sets standards that ensure security products, amongst others, work effectively. In the 100 years that they have been doing this, the LPCB Mark has become a recognised mark of trust for architects, specifiers and end-users.

Research and development on the Trellidor Trojan 3 EMESC T3000 security grille began early in 2016 and the Certificate of Product Approval was issued mid-2017.  This security grille resembles others in the Trellidor Retractable range but has a number of stand-out features that strengthen it beyond what would be required in household security.

The design of this security gate includes specialised reinforcing as well as sill guides and bearings that ensure the opening and closing of the gate is manageable in spite of its increased weight.  A specially engineered keyless emergency escape locking system has a quick release mechanism for unlocking in case of an emergency such as fire or crowds needing to vacate an area in a hurry.

“The Trellidor Trojan 3 EMESC T3000 security grille was designed for use in disaster management and has features that are not required in normal commercial buildings or households.  But our customers can take comfort in the fact that we apply the same care and attention to designing and manufacturing our security gates for their use too,” said Rawson.
